One
of the neat tricks about this is
that it seems to stretch a package
of hot dogs to double the size.
Most people will find one of these
is as filling as eating a whole,
regular hot dog. Preparation
takes more time than just throwing
the hotdogs into a pan of water,
but worth the effort.
Preheat
broiler as you prepare
Lay
out bun halves, separated, on a
foil lined cookie sheet. If
you like, lightly butter the buns.
Cut
hotdogs in half, lengthwise, and
put 1/2 on each bun section, with
cut side down.
Break
cheese slices in half, and set on
top of hotdog.
Take
semi-cooked pieces of bacon, and
place on top of cheese piece.
I have used a wooden toothpick
(NOT Plastic!) to hold things
together, but be careful to remove
the toothpick before kids start
eating these!
Broil
to the point where the bacon is
done, the cheese is melting and a
bit bubbly, and you are seeing a
bit of toasting on the bun.
Enjoy!!
