Keeping those Heirlooms Bright
HINTS and TIPS

Many of us collect antique linens and heirlooms in our cedar chests and linen closets,  and we want to preserve them and keep them at their very best.  After all, they are a memory of those that stitched before us.  Jane from "Designed By Jane" shares  her method for getting her heirlooms back to their "just done" look, and keeping them that way.

SNEAK PEAK of what's coming soon

Summer time is travel time.  And we all know what that means.  Packing bags and being in strange places.  How often when you travel have you needed a few sewing supplies?  Well, time to think ahead.  Put some basic sewing supplies into a small container along with scissors and other necessities and pack them in your suitcase now...ready to go.  If you pick up basic things from the dollar stores and such you can leave your little kit in your suitcase always ready to go along with a good book and maybe some hand stitching for your relax time.

Those clips you use for potato chips and such that you find all over the discount stores are a great way to hold all your supplies together for each of your projects.  Put the small parts in a zip lock bag, and then clip the larger parts to the bag with the clippies.  Projects are organized and ready to use and have less calories than the chips do too.

Those magnetic pin holders are great on your desktop for paper clips and other little items that seem to be all over.

The soft elastic hair bands are a perfect size to slip over your stabilizer rolls once they are open...add a tag to the band with the name of the stabilizer, cost and purchase place for future reference.

From the Kitchen of Carol Hoak

Carol says this is an old tried and true recipe that has been done several different ways.  But no matter which version you use it is AMAZING.  A great treat for parties and gatherings.  But don't make it unless you have someone to share it with because it is so good you WILL eat the whole pan.
