A
gentle reminder that
Summer is here and most
of us don't use our
sewing machines and embroidery
machines and scissors as
much. On your way off to
vacation drop the
animals at the animal
hotel and drop your
machines and scissors
off at your dealers for
a good cleaning,
sharpening and
adjusting. When
Holiday sewing comes
around and you are in
top working order you
will be very glad you
did.
Those
little plastic see
through cases with the
dividers that you can
get in the parts
departments
work really really well
for
putting in all your
sewing machine
things. Feet are
easy to find, parts are
in plain sight, needles
are right there and
everything is in one
easy box.
Looking
for ways to cut
costs? Try doing
some of these:
1.
Buy your stabilizers on
larger size rolls and
cut them to your
favorite sizes.
Larger and longer rolls
are most often much
cheaper and if you buy
them really long you can
get several different
lengths out of one
width.
2.
Buy the threads you use
the most in larger
spools. White,
black, neutral colors as
well as your bobbin
threads. Wind
bobbins as you are doing
hand work or computer
work and place them in a
box ready to go.
3.
Don't want to spend
money on a fancy thread
snips container? A
fun baseball cap with
the bill tucked under
the foot of the sewing
machine does just as
well...great for surgers
too.
