Summer sun is indeed here.  With the rays of the sun come problems as well.  Use your sunscreen to keep you skin protected and be sure to cover your machines from direct sun as well.  Direct sun will yellow your machines and dry them out causing them to show hairline cracks in the casings.  Make a pretty cover or just use a linen towel or pillowcase.

Looking for fun things for little ones to do outside?  Use your old paint brushes, or get a package from the dollar store along with a few colorful sand pails.  Fill them with water and let the little ones paint the house and the deck and the driveway and themselves.  Nothing is more fun.  Try using the inexpensive Ketchup and Mustard bottles and fill them with water for fun squirt guns.  

Summer is flip flop time.  So grab those fabric button blanks and embroider some covers to attach.  A different set for every occasion is great fun.  They are readily available at the sewing stores and the little designs from this collection and our Dreaming of Spring collection are the perfect size already.  Add ribbons and bows or fancy shoe laces tied into bows and you have a great looking project.  You can also tie small ribbons all down the straps for a fuzzy fun look.
